Translators who limit themselves to work from the construction field are generally regarded as "very specialized". As a subject area, however, construction embraces an immense variety of trades and disciplines:
Structural trades for building construction/civil engineering:concreting, masonry, structural steelwork and timberwork, facade engineering, roofing, earthwork, highway engineering, pipelines, bridge engineering, tunnelling etc.
Fit-out:windows, doors, partitions, wall, floor and ceiling finishes, plastering and painting, joinery and metalwork
Building services:hot/cold water supply, sanitary engineering, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR), power and telecommunications installations, transport, building management systems
Structural engineering and design
Applied physics in building:thermal/moisture/sound control, fire protection
